How to Use Your Car to Make Cash
This is a guest post by Stephen Anderson. You can also write an article about earning alternative income.
More people today are looking for unique ways to make ends meet. Whether it’s working from home or selling items on eBay, people are turning to more creative ways to earn an extra buck. There’s one asset sitting right outside that’s often overlooked: your car. That’s right! Believe it or not, there are ways to use your car to make money.
Instead of selling your car, these money making tips are also a good way to offest the cost of ownership for your car.
Chauffeuring
If you don’t drive people around town too often, you won’t get dinged with extra car insurance requirements. If you have a luxury sedan or SUV, consider answering an online ad looking for a driver. Even if you have a smaller car, chances are you’ll be able to find someone visiting your town that needs transportation for a few days.
Car Wraps
Car wraps not only earn you a bit of spending cash but they’re a great way to change the look of your vehicle without paying for it. Large companies will pay you to wrap your car with their advertisements. The more you drive, the more you make. There’s stiff competition for these gigs, so if you don’t drive frequently or have a very short commute to work, you may not be accepted.
Moving
Hundreds of people move every day and many don’t want to spend the hundreds or thousands of dollars that moving companies charge. If you have an SUV or even a hatchback and are in good physical condition, consider lending a helping hand. You can easily charge $50 or more an hour for your time. What you charge is up to you but you’re more likely to be hired if your rates are more reasonable than a professional mover.
Carpool
If your town doesn’t have a ride-share program, start one yourself! There are many people who need a ride because they don’t have a vehicle, and even more who are trying to go green. Look online for postings by people requesting a ride or hang a flyer on the office bulletin board announcing your new carpool program. While it may not make you a ton of money, you can make at least enough to fill your gas tank every week.
Rent It Out
Getaround is an exciting new company that will let you rent your car out when it’s sitting idly in your driveway. WiFi, GPS and keyless entry are included in the unit for the benefit of the customer.
The company also insures both the renter and owner so you can be sure your car is properly protected. You can rent your car by the hour if you choose which makes the idea perfect whether you’re working all day or sitting home for the weekend. Place your rental ad and customers will find it via the same iPhone app that allows them to request use.
Whether you are looking to make enough to fill your tank, to pay your car insurance premium or even bank a few hundred dollars a month, there are ways you can use your car to make money. Try one of these options or use them as a springboard for your own ideas. Have used any of these ideas to earn you some cash?
