Now is the Time to Buy A Used Car
When the conflicts in the Middle East started affecting oil prices, we noticed. Gas that's now at over $3.50 a gallon is news if only because of the huge jump in a short period.
With the disaster in Japan still buzzing in the news, American consumers have more price increases to look out for in the realm of used cars.
Fuel Efficiency Adds Savings
If you've been looking to buy a used, fuel-efficient Japanese model, now is the time to buy. Prices are holding steady now...
But in the coming weeks, factory shut-downs and other disruptions in Japan could make it difficult to find new Japanese-built cars. The problems could even affect inventories of American cars, since some components are produced in Japan.
Gas-Saving Used Cars Get Expensive
Coupled with the still-increasing fuel prices (and without any sign of letting up because of the U.S.'s involvement in Libya), more people will snatch up the fuel-efficient used models, which will ALSO drive the prices up.
So, if you've been in the market for a new-used car, it may be the time to quit debating and buy. Prices are expected to rise by the end of this week and continue through April.
