Christmas Apps Make the Holidays Enjoyable

Christmas is right around the corner, and you probably have a hundred things to take care of before the big day arrives. Fortunately, there are several apps available to help you get organized, allowing you to keep the Merry in your Christmas and leave the Grinch hiding in the hills.
We've written before about apps for taxes and apps for saving money, but here are the apps for the holidays!
Mobile Apps for iPhone, iPad, Android, or Windows Phone 7
Cards → Free App
This free app allows you to customize cards for your friends. The results are stylish and your friends will each receive a unique card. With the touch of a button, you can place an order for the cards to be printed and mailed. At $2.99 a card, it is a great way to affordably and quickly send cards to everyone on your list.
Christmas Gifts → $0.99 App
It’s hard to keep track of all the people on your list. In addition to remembering all the people you’re buying for, you also need to keep track of your purchases. This app is ideal for taking control of both the list and the spending. Enter the name of the person you are buying for, along with the planned budget. Every time you make a purchase for the recipient, enter it in the phone so the system can track the spending. Making this app even more appealing is the ability to password-protect the information.
The Grinch Who Stole Christmas → $3.99 App
The children’s story meets the electronic age with this fun app. Completely appropriate for young children who are allowed to use their mothers’ phones, this app lets children choose to read the story themselves or have it read to them.
Coca-Cola Christmas Snow Globes → Free App
What do you give someone who already has everything? You give them an e-card featuring their own picture in a cool snow globe. This one’s strictly for entertainment and will prove handy when you’re waiting in those long lines at the stores.
Salvation Army Christmas Music → $2.99 App
Enjoy Christmas music anytime with this clever app. In addition to the classic songs, this app also features hymns, oldies and even children’s songs. While you can’t choose the tune to listen to, you can skip songs to get to the next one. An added bonus is that the proceeds go directly to the Salvation Army.
Santa Tracker → $1.99 App
If you have convinced your children that Santa has a smart phone and you can send a text message about boys and girls who are bad, you should download this app. Your child can write letters to Santa and then track the generous elf as he makes his Christmas Eve deliveries.
Christmas apps can help you enjoy a less stressful holiday this year. Keep track of the gifts with ease and work on your Christmas cards while waiting in line. Round out the list with apps that will keep the children entertained and delighted throughout the Christmas season. If the cost of buying apps is starting to add up, consider using coupons to save money on app purchases.
